Applicable rules
- Drawdown
- At day's end, the Maximum Loss Limit trails the balance. Once it reaches your starting balance, it remains there. Any breach is based on unrealized P&L and checked in real time. A Daily Loss Limit is available with the Combine, and you may also select it for the Express Funded Account.
- Rule for consistency
- The Combine asks that your best single day stay below 55% of the target profit. With the XFA Consistency payout path, no single day can exceed 40% of total net profit.
- News-event trading
- You must not deliberately trade into a scheduled major news event with your full maximum position size.
- HFT and scalping
- Not allowed: scalping algorithms that use SIM fills and queue positions across hundreds of quick trades.
- EAs and bots
- You may use automated strategies if you meet the conditions. Topstep provides no setup help, and errant trades receive no exceptions.
