Trading rules from Apex Trader Funding
- Drawdown
- Each EOD account fixes its drawdown threshold when the market closes, and that level carries into the next session. Intraday accounts track their peak balance as it changes, and unrealized gains count toward that balance. Your account will fail once it reaches that threshold.
- Consistency requirement
- The evaluation has no consistency rule. For accounts, Performance Limits require one profitable day to show less than 50% of profits earned since your last approved payout.
- Trading during news
- While news is out, a normal strategy may trade. A strategy may not be used if it places orders on both sides or chases the market on news.
- HFT and scalping
- High frequency trading is banned by the rules. Other ways to exploit the simulated environment are also banned by the rules. Any strategy pairing tiny targets with large stops is also prohibited.
- EAs and bots
- You aren't allowed to use automation or algorithms.
- Trading by copying
- You can't hedge one account against another, or copy trades with other traders.
- Limits on accounts
- You can keep up to 20 Performance Accounts active at any one moment.
- Overnight and weekend trading
- You must close every position before the market close.
- Inactivity
- Your Performance Accounts remain open only if every rolling 30-day period includes at least 2 trading days with a net profit of $50+.
